Swire Properties Is All Set For Brickell CitiCentre Ground-Breaking Ceremony
By Selda Kirkan
A ground-breaking ceremony is set to take place on Wednesday for the $1.05 billion
mixed-use complex known as the Brickell CitiCentre which has been purchased by
Swire Properties — one of South Florida’s prime urban real estate developers today.
The ceremony will be taking place along South Miami Avenue where people can
expect to find traditional Chinese blessing acts which will include festive lion dance
performances.
Among the important guests that are expected to witness the event are Mayor Carlos
Gimenez of the Miami-Dade County area and Mayor Tomas Regalado of the City of
Miami.
The development project is set to cover three blocks located west of Brickell Avenue
and south of the Miami River. The 5 million square development will feature luxury
retail stores, a hotel, office spaces, two residential condominium towers, a wellness
center, dining establishments, and a department store.
Swire Properties stands firm in its belief that the development of Brickell CitiCentre
will be able to bring Miami’s metropolitan city status to a much higher level in the
future. Furthermore, the developers are looking at the entire picture in a long-term
sense wherein significant changes are going to take place in order to transform the
city for the better.
Over the last couple of years, people have come to realize that Miami generally has
gaps as far as its central urban shopping market is concerned. With the development
project underway, people can look forward to those gaps finally being filled within a
location that is central to Brickell and all of the nearby areas.
Such a superb location will definitely bring about substantial results for the city. In
fact, studies made by Miami Economic Associates have generated forecasts which
predict that the economic impact that the project will provide for the city could be
around $1 billion on top of the thousands of employment opportunities that will be
made available during the construction and even after the construction is complete.
Another feature that the Brickell CitiCentre is expected to have is a metro-mover that
will be built running through the third floor of the infrastructure which will be placed
in order to provide even better accessibility to the complex.
The city of Miami is definitely moving on to becoming more than just a region known
for its tropical climate and summer paradise qualities. Soon enough, the city will be
recognized as being one of the most complete metropolitan cities within the United
States.
